Kaa is such a great Disney villain. I took some time to draw him one day, and came up with several images that make gorgeous digital art.
The background of this contour drawing started back in 2011, as a 30×20 acrylic painting. Fast forward to now, when I digitally optimized it, turned it upside down and mirrored it, and used the glorious impressionist brush tool on Photoshop to obscure the detail enough for the contour drawing to shine through.
For this image, the background started as an unfinished painting that I finished on Photoshop. The original is extremely detailed the entire way through, but again, I strategically obscured the detail behind the contour drawing with the impressionist brush.
This background started as a small painting in one of my sketchbooks. I obscured most of the detail to fill in the blank space I had.
This background is actually a digital painting I made of the waterfall that appears throughout The Jungle Book.
It seems like there are a million ways to edit this image into another version I love; when will the madness end?
